15 years of Walter Blom Plants – and what a celebration!

The company name Walter Blom has a long history. The company was founded in 1880 due to the high demand for flower bulbs in the nineteenth century. At the end of the 1990s, the company expanded the bulb product group to include perennials. In the millennium year 2000, the Englishman Stephen Page joined Walter Blom and Son’s team as sales manager for perennials.
With his enormous knowledge of the product group and the market, he made a new start in 2010 and the company was officially renamed Walter Blom Plants B.V.

The bulb product group will be discontinued and with a small group of people, under the leadership of Stephen, the company will focus entirely on the development of perennials.

In 2025, Walter Blom Plants is celebrating its 15th anniversary and in the meantime the company has grown into a specialist in the field of roots, unrooted cuttings, tissue culture and plugs in a collection of no fewer than 160 different types of perennial plants.
Now located in a characteristic bulb shed on Veenenburgerlaan in Hillegom, Walter Blom Plants exports these products to more than 400 customers throughout Europe (including Great Britain), the United States and the Far East.

We marked our anniversary with an inspiring visit to Rotteveel Nursery and a healthy dose of fun during an Italian cooking workshop.
A day full of beautiful plants, laughter and of course… plenty of delicious treats! Cheers to 15 years of passion, growth, and teamwork.
